Zimt Chocolates’ founder Emma Smith began her plant-based journey at age 15, while recovering from an eating disorder in hospital. A fellow patient introduced her to a lifestyle of compassion for animals and a vegan diet; since then, this mantra of greater purpose has informed the core of all she does. While backpacking across Europe, she encountered a mysterious, popular 'unroasted' chocolate — a version of her preferred indulgence that satisfied both her flavor and ethical tastes. Hard work, a love of chocolate, and a desire to do better has culminated in some ridiculously delicious, healthy indulgences.
