Using extracted fibers from the palm leaves of the native plant, Estera, the body of this Mola Sasa Buey Woven Straw Tote is handwoven by the women of the Chimichagua community in the Cesar region of Colombia and has natural cotton canvas lining. The top handles of the tote are also handwoven in the Zenu Reserve in Tuchin Cordoba using the "caña flecha" technique - a technique developed for those of the "turned over hats" used in the coffee plantations.
