In her handcrafted range Laura uses traditional silversmithing techniques – sawing, hammering, filing and soldering and then signs each one. And, while the rocket is a modern geometric shape Laura’s unique finishing techniques provide each mezuzah with the warmth and personality of a hand crafted piece. The mezuzot make a beautiful wedding or house warming gift.
This mezuzah is lacquer coated and needs to cleaning.
The windows on the Apollo spacecraft inspired the abstract "shin" and the minimalist design of this unique contemporary mezuzah. Each piece is created by hand using traditional silversmithing techniques and Laura signs each mezuzah.
Contemporary designer Laura Cowan specialises in Judaica and silversmithing. Working from her design studio and workshop in Neve Tsedek, Tel Aviv she creates unique and original pieces many of which have been inspired by the 1960’s mission to land a man on the moon.
The windows on the Apollo spacecraft inspired the abstract "shin" and the minimalist design of this unique contemporary mezuzah. A replica of this mezuzah was taken into space by American Astronaut Greg Chamitoff.
