The New York International Olive Oil Competition (NYIOOC), held each April. The NYIOOC is the world’s largest and most prestigious olive oil quality contest, and its annual listing of award winners is widely considered to be the most trusted guide to the year’s best olive oils. In 2017 the NYIOCC hosted 910 entries from 27 different countries. There were 463 winners recognized by a team of prestigious judges, the winners were awarded 303 Gold Medals, 142 Silver Medals and 18 Best in Show Medals. Italy won the most awards, a total of 124, followed by Spain 110, United States 72, Greece 46 and finally Portugal with 38.
These unique oils can be used as a variety of "finishing oils" to add flavor and excitement to many dishes. Some of the pairings include; bean dishes, roasted meats and fish, baked seafood, young cheeses, Caprese salad, steamed or grilled veggies, grilled meats, bruschetta, red pasta sauces and pizza! Keep in mind, these oils can also be used for cooking, frying (eggs), and sautéing (garlic and onions) because of their purity, they have a very high "flash point" (over 425 degrees F.) and will NOT breakdown and smoke! Be sure to store your EVO's in a cool, dark place!
The 0.5L. (16.9 oz.) bottles are of black glass, some distinctive in design and will protect the ingredients from harmful (UV) light.

These 100% pure extra virgins yield a variety of aromas and flavors. Definite intense aromas are present in each example, with hints of artichoke, unripe tomato, a scent of Almonds, vegetal notes of chicory, celery, basil, lettuce, black pepper, depending on the Cultivars. All, however, providing a true sense of harmony and ending in a usual nice pungent/bitter finish.
