Keap make scented candles to feel good about. This means fine fragrances by a master perfumer, clean burning and sustainable coconut wax, all at a fair price—and each candle bought supports the distribution of solar lamps to communities in need.
The first time you burn any candle, burn it for 2-3 hours. This will not only maximize the fragrance throw, but also help avoid “tunneling”—where the candle burns down the middle, leaving wax around the edges. Trimming the wick to 1/4” before burning helps ensure a smaller, safer flame and less soot. Nail clippers do the trick. The width of your littlest finger is a good guide to the correct length.
Each candle is made by a small team of humans in Brooklyn. Once you’ve burned your candle, you can easily give the candleholder a second life by cleaning it out and removing the no-residue labels.
Keap's signature scented candles are poured in Brooklyn, using a blend of fine fragrance and sustainable coconut wax. Their design is artful, minimal and the candle glass is designed to be easy to reuse as a drinks tumbler. They are a certified B-corp, and their partnership with with Solar-Aid.org means that each candle bought supports the distribution of solar lamps to communities in need.
Scent is at the heart of Keap's candles. They collaborated closely with a master perfumer to capture balanced and clean fragrances—never cloying or intrusive. The Warm set: Wood Cabin, notes of cedar wood, burned pine, palo santo nutmeg and cade juniper. Hot Springs, notes of eucalyptus, lavender absolute, cedar leaves, neroli and yuzu. The Fresh set: Waves, notes of sea salt, calone, cyclamen, star anise and galbanum. Green Market, notes of garden mint, basil, cucumber, fig leaves and water hyacinth.
