Catherine did something completely different with pewter when she designed the original piece, by making it entirely from one sheet of pewter which is then folded rather than cut into to the shape of twisting, autumnal leaves. Twist broke the mould and it’s proved a hit ever since.
Wash by hand in hot soapy water and dry with a soft cloth. Pewter will keep its shiny finish with minimum care. If it does start to dull, rub it with a bit of standard metal polish prior to washing. Clean in straight line strokes (not circular).
Arthur Richard Wentworth, a pewtersmith, founded the company in 1949. Because pewter is part of Sheffield's steel-making heritage, these jiggers are stamped with seals of authenticity and association: the coat of arms of Sheffield, minimum tin content (92%), the Pewter Craftsmen trade guild stamp, a European Union authentication stamp and Wentworth's initials.
