A lot of designers and bag makers will tell you their items are handmade but what does that mean? When we say handmade we mean that a real person, paid properly to honour their craft, hand cuts all the parts of your bag, physically glues rivets and hammers the parts together and finally sews the bag with thick, if you are in the know number 10, nylon and cotton thread.
Use all day, every day without worrying. Repeat. Any leather care product will keep your bag always looking beautiful. Do not fret over superficial scratches in the leather, they disappear by rubbing them with vaseline. If they don't go because you rubbed hard it against gravel that one time, just remember, this is not a fragile item scratches and marks make your bag more beautiful and lived in. The integrity and structure of the bag are never compromised. We made sure of that.
Made in Italy conjures up images of elegance, style and perfect craftsmanship for good reasons. We are outstanding at fashion and extremely skilled at working leather. But, what happens when Chinese factories move to Italy and start producing? Do their product still deserve the brand of Made in Italy? Semantically yes, ethically, not at all. Bags don't grow in the ground, they are made by people so Italian soil alone doesn't quite cut it, you need the Italian expertise. Major designers now produce made in Italy in Chinese factories on Italian soil. You are fooled into thinking you are buying made in Italy but it is actually made in China. Once you see the factories, I have, you can't un-see it and it is worrisome. You should worry about that too. We produce in our workshop in Naples and design in Brooklyn which means you get US customer service and Italian design and manufacturing. It's a win win. Why is this affordable? A designer still got to pay his rent, especially in new York but, we'd rather earn a little less and invest more money in our products. We don't scram on hardware, zippers, lining because when we send your bag out we want to be proud of our product. We don't make your bags more affordable by paying our artisans less, we honour the craftsmen and women who have been doing this for generations, but simply by not paying rent in a luxury brick and mortar store, by being modest with our margins but above all by cashing in on our expertise in where to buy the best leather at affordable prices. We sleep well at night and so will you.
