God symbol from 1700BC. In many cultures, round shapes have been thought to possess magical powers granting protection. In our third collection, we have decided to seek inspiration from the Hittite Empire. We wanted to honour an ancient people and popularize a civilisation where women well respected and represented even 2000 years ago. The Hittites occupied the region of Anatolia (also known as Asia Minor, modern-day Turkey) prior to 1700 BCE. For their hieroglyphs, they used two scripts, one of them is taken from Luwian hieroglyphs. We’ve combined a colourful Mediterranean touch to our British roots and selected specific symbols from ancient hieroglyphs. Each piece in the collection had its own unique meaning. We hope this collection will draw more attention to this fascinating and enigmatic land. Part of the profit will be donated HeForShe Project. HeForShe is a solidarity campaign for the advancement of women initiated by UN Women. Its goal is to engage men and boys as agents of change by encouraging them to take action against negative inequalities faced by women and girls.
