Kente cloth is a traditional handcraft of West African countries like Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire. A percentage of the profit goes back to the weavers in Ghana.
QP Collections has partnered with an NGO in Ghana Africa to get some of their beautiful fabric, and repay them and improve their community. The Kente is woven by these individuals in Ghana, and then assembled into our products here in the USA. We purchase all the fabric from the group, and after each sale we send proceeds back to the group. This specific tie was made by Mandela-Dalali. Mandela-Dalali, age 26 I was born in the city of Ho in Ghana’s Volta Region but my family moved to Adaklu when I was young. It was at Aduklu that I learned how to weave and soon formed a group with other weavers. When I’m not working I love to read, especially the Bible. ? The weave is made from silk and cotton. Every one of our ties can now be monogrammed. Either with your initials, or with the initials of someone who will be receiving this item as a gift. Please leave the initials in the notes section when you check out. If you get multiple items, please specify what item should get what initials. Please keep in mind, we can only monogram up to three letters or numbers (no symbols) on the leather tie stay. Take a look at the last picture for an example of what the monogram looks like.
