Handmade in our workshop in Italy using 2.5mm thick, 100% pure copper. With it's superior heat conductivity, our rounded copper saut & frypan comes complete with a lid and is ideal for high-heat frying as well as saut ing. The rounded transition from the base to the sides of the pan makes working the food with utensils very easy while the extra long brass handle allows handling the pan safe and convenient even with the use of both hands. Our copper saut & frypan as well as the lid is constructed completely by hand using one single sheet of 2.5mm thick pure copper. The tinning is done utilizing the traditional fire-tinning method using only 100% pure tin, handles are made of pure brass and are secured by pure copper rivets. Available sizes & capacities: 7.1” Fry & Saute Pan = (W) 7.1” x (H) 1.8” (18cm x 4.5cm) - 1.2qt. (1.2ltr.) 8.7” Fry & Saute Pan = (W) 8.7” x (H) 2.1” (22cm x 5.3cm) - 2.1qt. (2.0ltr.) 10.2” Fry & Saute Pan = (W) 10.2” x (H) 2.2” (26cm x 5.5cm) - 3.1qt. (2.9ltr.) As all of our products, our rounded Saute & Frypan with lid is hand-crafted in the Navarini workshop in northern Italy. The body as well as the lid of our copper saute & fry pan is constructed from one single sheet of copper ensuring absolute even heat distribution from the base to the sides of the serving pan. The extra long handles are made of high quality brass and secured by 4 pure copper rivets. The copper used for our saut & frypan is pure copper with a thickness of 2.5mm making this copper serving pan equally suitable on gas as well as electric, glass or ceramic stoves. Other type of materials such as stainless steel or aluminum as well as the way some cookware is constructed, might result in air pockets in the material especially the base. Those air pockets would allow heat to concentrate on one spot creating hot spots over time. The base of the Navarini copper saut & frypan will never create any unwelcome hot spots, air pockets or lose any of its superior heat conductivity as it is made out of one sheet of copper. This means that the thermal heat conductivity as well as heat retention will not only be superior to stainless steel or aluminum cookware but will retain its high level of efficiency throughout the lifetime of your Navarini copper cookware. Copper conducts heat twice as fast as aluminum cookware, 5 times faster compared to cast iron and over 25 times faster than stainless steel cookware. This time difference becomes obvious when it comes to heating up or changing the temperature during the cooking process. Changing the temperature on your stove translates into immediate change in temperature in your copper cookware allowing cooking, brown or braising to perfection. Our copper saut & frypan features 1 extra long handle allowing to handle the pan easy and safe even with the use of both hands. We only use high quality brass handles on any of our copper products as well as only secure them with pure copper rivets. The body handle as well as the lid handle is secured with pure copper rivets. Our copper saut & frypan, including the lid, is entirely hand-hammered. Hand-hammered copper cookware adds strength and enhances the structure & durability of the material. In addition, hand-hammered characterizes true artisanship. We only use high quality, 100% pure and non-reactive tin-lining for our copper products as well as applying the lining utilizing the traditional method of fire-tinning. The advantage is that the heat conductivity of the tin-lining corresponds perfectly with the copper. Hence, translates desired changes of cooking temperature immediately to the food allowing much more cooking control and better results. Compared to other coating materials, our tin-lining can easily be renewed as often as desired and your cookware can be handed onto the next generation. Our copper cookware including the non-reactive and renewable tin-lining has a high heat tolerance of up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (230 degrees Celsius). One of the reasons why our copper cookware is preferred by professional chefs around the world. Rather then having straight sides, this particular saucepan is crafted with a smooth and rounded transition from the base to the sides of the cookware. This rounded transition allows working the food with utensils easier and more efficient. Our copper saut & frypan will arrive packed in a beautiful blue Bottega Navarini cloth bag. Not only a fitting bag for our beautiful copper products but already treasured by our customers as a sign of an original Navarini. Crafted by hand in the Navarini family workshop of Ravina, Italy.
Please note: Minor cosmetic imperfections may occur. Small imperfections are a natural part of the handmade process and lend charm, depth, and individuality to each piece. We only use 100% pure materials such as copper, brass and tin for our products. The entire process is made by hand and we utilize the traditional method of fire-tinning.
