To create these simple, all-natural bath salts, Epsom salt and Mediterranean Sea salt are hand-blended with essential oils in large wooden bowls, then poured directly into recycled glass apothecary bottles. The combination of Clary Sage and ruby red grapefruit essential oils is bright, uplifting and calming. Clary Sage is a native species of Europe and its essential oils are notable for the ability to reduce inflammation and help relieve anxiety.
Sprinkle a quarter cup (about a handful) of bathing salt into a comfortably warm bath. It's recommended to wait until the bath is finished filling, otherwise the essential oils may partially evaporate under the running water. Soak for at least 15 minutes to reap the full therapeutic benefits of the salts and essential oils.
Combining her studies in western herbalism and botany and her interests in traditional craft methods, Erin Hammond, along with her husband Glen, founded Aster & Bay self-care products. All of their bath and body products are completely plant-based with no preservatives, chemicals or synthetics. Each and every item is formulated, designed and packed by hand in their studio in Atlanta, GA.
