The uniquely surfaced blades on these handmade knives are repurposed from old plowing discs in machinery used to sow seeds on farms in Brazil. The blades are then forged to the horn handles with a bolster of solid, gleaming brass. The utility knives arrive as one-of-a-kind items. They take on more character the more tasks you give them, from slicing tomatoes to carving wood.
Hand wash only, and dry immediately. Lubricate with cooking oil or mineral oil as needed. Over time and with use, the knife will develop a unique patina, adding to the character of your tool.
Designer Max Poglia has come to call New York City home, but he remains rooted in his Brazilian heritage. He began his eponymous line, Poglia, as a way to merge both worlds: The line of products is designed out of Brooklyn and manufactured by artisans in southern Brazil, including loom woven blankets and handmade leather bags. Max’s knives are used in restaurants in New York and in Paris.
Utility knife for kitchen, household or outdoors. Handmade in Brazil using repurposed steel with cow horn handle. The metal will create a unique patina over time and with every use. Comes in a leather sheath. Also available in Grey.
