The husband and wife behind these stick horses are furniture makers inspired by a ranch lifestyle of raising bison and riding horses in Sonora, Mexico. In collaboration with Kaufmann Mercantile, they thought up this exclusive design for a functional kids’ toy that would also look stylish in the living room. The stick horses are artisan made, with two brothers working on the Canadian oak bases and a leather specialist applying the leather components.
These are kids’ toys, so they are meant to get beat up. Wiping them down with a damp cloth periodically is all that is required. Condition with our Beeswax Wood Care & Finish and Beeswax Leather Conditioner if desired.
Husband-and-wife Jorge Almada and Anne-Marie Midy, trained at Parsons and Rhode Island School of Design, respectively, and began their furniture design and production house in 1998. They generate all of the designs and, with a team of about 60 artisans, manufacture each piece at their headquarters in San Miguel de Allende in central Mexico.
