Sea urchins are found under rocks and rock shelves on the shore below the high-tide mark. The sea urchin shell is covered with spikes for protection against predators. The Urchin lamp shade is inspired from the shells of the sea urchin which are washed up along our shorelines. The flowing interlocking curves of each element attaches itself to an adjacent element to form a shape similar to the sea urchin shell. The color of the Urchin is white.
Lighting up the Urchin explicitly reveals the beautiful flowing interlocking connections of each element with its adjacent element. The Urchin lamp shade can illuminate a room beautifully either as a pendant above a dinning room table, in a room or hallway. Having a number of Urchin lamp shades in a row provides a beautiful effect. The elements of the interlocking surface are made from a polypropylene plastic. Where possible we use recycled white polypropylene. The Urchin lamp shade can be cleaned with hot water and soap or if you have stubborn dirt, with a biodegradable cleaner.
