Guzman often incorporates images of Coco Chanel and his alter ego, Haculla, into his works. This piece in particular is reflective of a story surrounding a diamond given to Coco Chanel that was thrown into the ocean, as she refused to be controlled by the man that had given it to her. It's a story that has great meaning to Guzman. He unveiled this piece in New York City during Armory Arts Week 2013.
Mixed Media. From the Harif Guzman collection, "Haculla."
