We’re fascinated by the Collyer brothers, who were compulsive hoarders living in a Manhattan brownstone surrounded by mounds of old newspapers. But we don’t want to live like them. So before things get out of hand, we’ve decided to put our past issues of magazines to good use by turning them into furniture, compliments of these cool Hockenheimer Stools from NJU Studio.?? The idea is simple: You get a waxed birch base, a couple of leather straps and a cushion. You then stack up your magazines or newspapers—the stools come in two sizes—top with the cushion, and then fasten the straps. In one fell swoop, you’ve tidied up and created extra seating.
