Paris-born Nathalie Sann has been embroidering since her grandmother taught her how to stitch monograms when she was a young girl. Sann went on to study at Maison Lesage, the legendary Paris firm that was founded in 1858 and has been creating the embroidery for Chanel, Dior, and other couture houses. But her talent remained a hobby until she moved to New York and began teaching others this delicate craft. She went on to launch a custom embroidery business and now makes whimsical stuffed animals from vintage and flea market textiles that she embroiders and beads with original designs.
