While traveling through Morocco in 2007, Katharine L'Heureux first experienced the profound complexion-improving properties of Argan oil. The centuries-old beauty ritual practiced by the Berbers, an indigenous people of North Africa, neutralizes free radicals, reduces inflammation and the appearance of fine lines, and protects skin from environmental damage. After returning home to New York, L'Heureux launched Kahina Giving Beauty, named for a Berber warrior queen of the 7th century, and in 2013, the Living Beauty line of artisan home goods.
