From the pharaohs to Bond villain Auric Goldfinger, gold has had a unique hold on the imagination. But as a skincare ingredient? Not so much. Until, that is, beauty expert Julius Eulberg came across the writings of Paracelsus, a Swiss-born 16th century alchemist and physician. “Amongst all elixirs is gold the highest and most important for us...Liquid gold cures all illnesses and regenerates and renews the skin,” he says.
Taking this as his inspiration, Eulberg created Julisis, a 100-percent pure skincare line that incorporates both organically grown herbs and potent liquid gold, formulated according to strict alchemical principles (plants, for example, are picked in accordance with the movement of the planets). Though other lines may claim to contain gold, he cautions, they’re using coarser forms that can’t be absorbed by the skin. Julisis—the name is a combination of Julius and Isis, the Egyptian goddess who was considered the greatest magician of all—uses aurum potabile, a traditional alchemical blend that contains micro-particles of the purest gold.
What does that mean for your complexion? “Our liquid gold essence acts as a cell opener and helps to deliver the optimal nutritional level to each skin cell,” explains Eulberg. “Julisis is pure cell nutrition. Absorption is instant.” And, he adds, because liquid gold works on the heart chakra, it harmonizes the entire organism and restores inner balance.
We’re proud to feature this constantly sold-out line (we had to work hard to get our hands on it) and we offer three Julisis products: the Gold Neroli Toner, which refreshes, revitalizes and stimulates, use it whenever your skin needs extra moisture; Gold Emulsion Day, which firms, smoothes and tones and makes wrinkles less visible, use it daily for all day protection; and Eyemulsion, a protective eye cream that incorporates white diamond essence and reduces puffiness as well as black circles. Used together, they’ll make your skin stronger, more resilient, and better able to repair itself. But you don’t need to take our word for it. Julisis is a favorite of such skin-pamperers as Madonna, Susan Sarandon, Brangelina and the Saudi royal family.
