Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) began his creative career as a graffiti artist on the Lower East Side of New York City. His primitivistic, neo-expressionist style often used text and imagery to distill perceptions of the outside world into their emotive essence. After his death, the Jean-Michel Basquiat Foundation collaborated with lifestyle brand Ligne Blanche Paris and international perfumer Givaudan to create a set of candles that marry Basquiat’s artwork with luxury fragrances.
