Erika Emeruwa was happily working as a marketing and advertising executive in New York City when she doodled a pair of dream handbags in a notebook, never imagining that they’d see the light of day. As she imagined them, they were chic and supple and could hold everything she needed for the day: folders, a laptop, subway reading, music, makeup and a pair of heels. But once they were down in blue ink, Emeruwa couldn’t stop thinking about them. Her two doodles became the basis of her first capsule handbag collection, Emalle New York. Named Ully, a stylish everyday bag with a zippered compartment for heels, and Ena, a simple laptop tote that’s classic enough to go anywhere, they’re crafted to make your daily transitions—train to work, office to meeting, work to cocktails—as simple as doodling in a notebook.
