As a child Shannon Astali DeJong would collect discarded objects and transform them into something new, fashioning jewelry out of random bits and pieces. This hobby eventually turned into a career. After working for various jewelry designers in Los Angeles, she launched her own brand. ASTALI focuses on unique, often overlooked materials such as spent bullet casings and snake vertebrae. Her inspiration is to create wearable conversation pieces that garner renewed appreciation for the old.
