From Honey Rider (Ursula Andress) striding out of the sea in her iconic bikini to May Day (Grace Jones) parachuting off the Eiffel Tower, Bond Girls are not to be messed with. Beautiful, dressed to kill—often literally—and independent, they’re the kind of women who pack heat as naturally as they put on lipstick. Which is where the link to the Akillis Bang Bang collection comes in. Inspired by the Bond Girl’s aura of sexy dangerousness and never-say-die glamour, designer Caroline Gaspard has created a series of 18-karat white gold and black titanium pendants and rings in the shape of bullets (including some 9mm Kalashnikov bullets), some of them studded with diamonds. It’s an idea that’s so over the top that we can’t help but love it.
A Bond fan with a soft spot for femmes fatales, gangsters and spies, the Paris-born Gaspard was prompted to launch her line after a trip to Russia, a country she describes as “undergoing an extraordinary metamorphosis” with “an emerging generation ready to explore everything.” The kind of place, in other words, a Bond Girl with a diamond-paved Kalashnikov bullet would feel right at home in. We’re offering two bullet pendants, the shorter Bang Bang bullet and the longer AK, in white gold, white gold with diamonds, white gold with black rhodium and black diamonds, and black titanium and the ring in white gold with diamonds and white gold with black rhodium and black diamonds. Akillis jewelry is handcrafted in France.
