In 1980, eighteen-year-old Benedikt Taschen started a comic book shop so he could sell and trade from his collection. That shop grew into Taschen, a publishing company that makes art books available to everyone. Taschen distributes in more than 20 languages and covers topics such as architecture, design and photography, making artistic enrichment accessible to people all over the world. Notable Taschen books include 100 Contemporary Houses, a look at exceptional contemporary houses from Chile to China; 100 Interiors Around the World, which highlights diverse interiors; and The Gospel According To Marc, a catalogue featuring all of Australian industrial designer Marc Newson's works to date.
