Connor Fine Engraver and Stationer makes fine French-made hand engraved stationery using traditional hardened steel dies, an eighteenth century technique that results in exceptional clarity and details. “There is no way to translate the dimensions and depth of sculptured images into steel with a computer, it must be done by hand,” says Henri Richter-Werner, the brand’s creative director. Previously only available through private order, the company has launched its first ever ready-made line.
What was your vision when you launched your line?
We wanted to create a beautiful product incorporating Connor’s one-of-a-kind hand engraving with something relevant that captures the excitement of color.
How was this product made?
It was hand engraved in Paris.
How do you choose the motifs that decorate your writing tablets and note cards?
Inspiration for the Tablet Boxes come from unique animals and the Les Petits cards have hand-engraved dies combined with a social media touch.
