Name: Sabrina Wirth
Expertise: Contemporary Art: advising/curating, connecting people
Location: New York City
Interests: Art, traveling, languages, photography, skiing, painting, experiencing new adventures.
Background: Although I’m a native New Yorker, I have a Swiss and Salvadoran background, which I think gives me a global perspective and facility with languages. I formerly worked as a graphic designer at the NY Daily News and now work as the director of my art advisory company “Wirth Art Advisory” and promote talented, up-and-coming artists from all over the world.
Why did you curate the Reversible Cork Belts and what do you love about them? I love this product because it is so innovative and smart. It is using an eco-friendly material in a very unusual way. The cork is soft and pliable like leather, yet it is made from the outer bark of the cork tree. It also has a much greater variety in design/patterns than leather. Cliff is so creative that this product is just going to keep getting better.
Favorite meal: Breakfast.
Recent purchase: TOMS shoes.
Hidden talent: I can raise my eyebrows independent of each other.
Book/film recommendation: Love The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
Restaurant recommendation: Ditirambo restaurant near Campo di Fiori in Rome. Delicious!
If I had $20, I’d… : Get a mani AND pedi at Yo yo Nails & Spa (93rd and 2nd, NYC).
Transformative travel experience: Traveling to India with my mother last year (2010).
Favorite neighborhood: Trastevere, Rome.
Dream holiday: Sailing trip through Turkey with boyfriend/friends/family or all of the above.
If I could solve one problem, it would be: Homelessness.
I wish people cared more about: Providing quality service rather than just getting business (i.e. at hotels/bars).
Recent big aha!: Getting back in touch with friends from 17 years ago through Facebook-friends from San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where I just visited after that many years.
The world would be a better place if: Everyone would just get along.
