ABOUT

Jason Campbell is a global fashion and style expert. He is the editor-in-chief of JC Report, an online fashion magazine that publishes lifestyle trends from style epicenters, and the founder and creative director of ClosetHQ.com, a platform for digitizing closets, personal styling and shopping.

Campbell’s coverage of fashion shows in Brazil, China, Paris and London have earned him the respect of the international fashion community, and he has been called as a trend commentator to The Financial Times, International Herald Tribune, New York Magazine, Vogue, and New York Times. His writing has appeared on Style.com, Net-a-Porter, American Express Centurion and Surface, and he has hosted ExtraTV.

At the heart, though, Campbell is a stylist, and his clients include Wendi Murdoch and Kathy Freston, who have both appeared on the Vanity Fair Best Dressed list, Ivanka Trump, Queen Raina and many more.

Name: Jason Campbell
Expertise: Editor-in-Chief of JCReport.com
Location: New York, Los Angeles

Interests: Travel, writing, global fashion trends, emerging talents, getting the most out of your closet.

Background: Born in Jamaica, raised in Connecticut. I attended the University of Vermont, I've lived in London, Paris, and Buenos Aires. I'm a serial entrepeneur— I founded Mega Models, Netsetgoods.com, Terrestrial Group and JCReport.com.

Favorite meal: Ackee and saltfish, the Jamaican national dish.

Recent purchase: A gorgeous Hermes cashmere coat (once owned by Tina Turner) that I scored in Zurich last month where she lives.

Book/film recommendation: Book: Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin. Movie: Home At the End of the World directed by Michael Mayer.

Restaurant recommendation: Emilio's Ballato in New York, Krung Thep in Paris.

If I had $20, I’d…: Have a tasty noodle at Momofuku Noodle Bar.

Transformative travel experience: A recent trip to Tulum was sublime: epic long beach with nary a soul on it, private yoga lessons, and clay mud massages. It was a true fashion detox.

Favorite neighborhood: Lapa on Friday nights in Rio de Janiero. The energy and the beauty of the people is infectious. It's the best way to spend a Friday night.

Dream holiday: I've heard amazing things about the Galapagos Islands. This is definitely one region I have yet to travel to.

If I could solve one problem, it would be: Decisiveness. I wish more people were able to make firm decisions and stick to them.

I wish people cared more about: Being nice to each other and respectful of individual choices and preferences.

Recent big aha!: Mortality is not so scary afterall.

The world would be a better place if: We all just tried to get along.
