Embellished Hand Finished Bowtie
By Title of WorkThanks to design elements like Swarovski crystals, rock crystals on textured wool and gleaming navy satin, these bowties give a whole new meaning to black tie. Ideal for adding a dandy twist to your tuxedo, they’re the nighttime answer to male accessorizing.
THE STORY
Unless you’ve got a Wilt Chamberlain-style flamboyance thing going on, if you’re a man, your choice of accessories is pretty much limited to your tie. Which in turn means that your big choice every morning is stripes or checks. That just wasn’t working for Jonathan Meizler, whose Title of Work neckties are subtle shades of charcoal and black juxtaposed with fashion forward details such as sterling silver grommets and jet-colored beading.
“I thought it was time to introduce a new concept tie,” he told us. “Modern and sexy, with an edge.” We’re featuring three Title of Work designs. The first is a gray English wool crepe with two sets of triple horizontal black crystal stripes, for a subtle military vibe, and the second is a black Italian wool twill with an elegant vertical stripe of black crystal beading. “I love the contrast of playing with sheen and matte,” Meizler says. “It’s sexy without being flamboyant or fussy.” The third tie is a gray English wool crepe with a hand-cast sterling silver grommet that’s both decorative and functional—a bar threads through the grommet to attach the front and back of the tie, preventing what Meizler calls “flappage.”
