Wooden LED Clock
By Neo-UtilityThe handmade To:Ca LED Clock brings the timeless beauty of wood to your bedside or living room. When it’s on, the LED lights shine through the hollowed out core. When it’s off, it looks like a block of wood.
THE STORY
The dictionary definition of pure is “free from anything of a different, inferior, or contaminating kind.” As in pure water. Or pure gold. Why would you have anything else? That’s what we thought when we saw this To:Ca wood LED clock by Takumi, the Tokyo designer who specializes in clever interpretations of everyday objects. This beautiful timepiece is a block of wood that’s been hollowed out (To:Ca is a play on the Japanese word for “see-through”) to allow the big, ’70s style LED numbers to shine through. When it’s off, all you see is wood. That’s it. No buttons, no touch pads, no alarm—nothing to fumble with. Just time. And you can never have enough of that.
