Why did you curate the Météorites Perles de Nuit?

"Guerlain has been our go-to beauty brand for years. The makeup is amazing on-camera and off and these days the skincare has become a life-saver because we are finding ourselves on-camera more than off! We curated Guerlain's Belle de Nuit makeup collection because their holiday collection is the most decadent of the year. We love to buy a few sets to gift our friends and clients and always grab a set for ourselves because...we deserve it."

THE STORY

Few beauty brands have the mystique that Guerlain does. Since it was founded in 1828, Guerlain’s storied creations include some of the best-loved perfumes of all time—Jicky, L’Heure Bleue and, of course, Shalimar—as well as many ground-breaking makeup and skincare products that were the first of their kind. You can thank Guerlain for inventing the modern lipstick: they were the first to put lipstick in a tube in 1870. That bronzer you can’t live without? Guerlain created the first bronzing powder in the 1980s. Thus—drum roll, please—AHAlife is honored to be offering Guerlain’s highly anticipated holiday makeup collection, Belle de Nuit, before it becomes available anywhere else.

Belle de Nuit takes its inspiration from a haunting scent Guerlain launched in 1933 called Vol de Nuit (“night flight”), named for a novel by the poet and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and produced as an homage to the most famous aviatrixes of the day—daring women like Amelia Earhart and Jacqueline Cochrane, who held more speed records than any other pilot, male or female. One of the first fragrances to have prominent green notes, Vol de Nuit was packaged in a groundbreaking Art Deco bottle that combined glass and metal to evoke the blades of a propeller. This subtle design is echoed in both the packaging and night sky-inspired colors of the Belle de Nuit collection, referencing the beauty of flight in all its forms.
