THE STORY
Commonly used in Asia as an air and water purifier, white charcoal is dust and residue free and is made of kiln-fired hard wood. White charcoal is actually black, but is titled after the manufacturing process that changes charcoal into a material as hard as cast iron. The charcoal contains more than 90 percent pure carbon, which is one of the basic elements of life. As interpreted by the Copenhagen firm Sort of Coal, this powerful material takes the shape of thoughtful household décor, jewelry and soap.
