Reinhardt comes to the chocolatier field from a rather windy career road—she spent 11 years studying meditation in the Himalayas (she even lived in a cave, hello hardcore). When she returned to the U.S. she wanted to “bring some of what she experienced in the East to the West.” After considerable consternation as to how to get us quick-paced Westerners to slow down a little, she came upon a novel entry point: chocolate. Reinhardt realized that, as we eat chocolate, “We're completely in the moment, completely focused.
