These beautiful ruby red brushes for fine to normal hair have been the go-to for renowned hairstylists since entering the market a whopping 130 years ago. Each brush boasts eight rings of boar bristles and slightly longer nylon tufts that are embedded in the signature red pad. What's your hair type? If it's dry, brushing will help activate the tiny oil glands at the base of each hair shaft. If you have greasy hair, brushing helps lift away excess oil from the hair shaft. And if you’re troubled with dandruff, rest assured Mason Pearson’s brushes reach every part of the scalp thoroughly, sweeping away any dead skin cells.

Caring for your brush: Do not use it on applications for which it is not designed; for example, it is not designed to be used on animals. It should not be left continuously in strong sunlight during a large part of its life. The ultra-violet light can perish the rubber and heat can distort the handle. Important: Do not use oils, spirits, solvents or other chemicals on your hairbrush. These can destroy the rubber. Oil-based preparations can do the same if they are allowed to accumulate on the brush. Prolonged and direct heat from any heating appliances can damage your hair brush.
Cleaning your brush: Dry clean it frequently by hand. Using a comb, loosen any ‘woven’ strands and remove with the provided cleaning brush. Wash it occasionally by first dry cleaning it and then lathering the cleaning brush in lukewarm water, soapy water. Hold the hairbrush so that it is sloping downwards and no water can enter the air hole at the end. Rinse it in clean water and remove excessive moisture by shaking the brush. Do not use any detergents, ammonia, petroleum-based products or shampoos to clean the hairbrush. Never dry the bristles with a towel.
