Part of the pleasure is that Connor Fine Engraver and Stationer—named for the renowned nineteenth-century New York City stationer John Connors—offers only a limited amount of ready made stationery. Normally, if you want access to the work of the company’s master engravers and stampers, you have to place a costly custom order. Another bonus: Connor is one of the very few stationers in the U.S. to do this type of traditional hand engraving, which gives must greater detail and clarity than computer-generated methods. Among this select group, Connor’s work stands out for its precision. 

We’re offering two of Connor’s Les Petits note card designs: a laughing gold skull with the slogan “LOL” underneath it, inspired by social media shorthand, and a pair of golden handcuffs set over the word “forever.” Each design comes in a set of three—one each in azure blue, aloe green and geranium red—and includes three envelopes. The note cards are packaged in a gray linen sleeve.

Made of extra thick, heavyweight paper that gives even the shortest note a discriminating touch, these handmade cards mix traditional technique with twenty-first century flair.
