But belts don’t need to be so predictable, says Cliff Huang, who makes his out of cork, an environmentally friendly (renewable and sustainable!) resource that’s also beautifully textured, light, durable and ages to a gorgeous, broken-in patina that improves with wear.

But being made of cork isn't the only unique feature here. These belts are unisex and completely reversible — the 1.5 inch wide black belt is reversible to tiger-tan, while the 1.3 inch wide chocolate brown belt is reversible to blue — meaning that you’re geting two belts for the price of one (or, if you love them as much as we do, four belts for the price of two). These belts are fantastic for travel, providing more accessories in less space, as well as having a geniously-designed buckle that is detachable on its own (no more removing your entire belt to get through airport security).

This belt will wear very much like leather, getting softer and more pliable with age. And despite its lightness, it’s very strong - even holding up to machine washing at temperatures up to 30 degrees Celsius. “The material will take a serious beating without sacrificing strength.
