Not only do these bags look incredibly discreet and up-market—Coco Chanel, remember, built a fashion empire on quilted leather—but underneath the buttery soft exterior is a layer of protective foam padding. “Most laptop cases on the market are functional but not that stylish or desirable,” says Elliott. “The Q1 Skin looks and feels good and offers protection, too.”

Which is why Elliott, who initially made only one laptop case for himself, is now in business. Everywhere he carried that original case, someone asked him for one. This prompted him to launch his line, which is now carried at such prestigious retailers as Harvey Nichols, Liberty of London and 10 Corso Como.
