When we want to wake up, we drink coffee. But when we want to feel soothed and serene, we inevitably turn to tea, preferably one of the exquisitely scented brews created by renowned perfumer Mandy Aftel, a lifelong lover and drinker of tea. 

“My creative process in making these teas was like the one I use in making a perfume—I try to find harmony among all the various aromas and flavors, like a marriage that brings out the best in both partners,” Aftel says. “I use the finest quality essences: frankincense from Oman, jasmine from India, rose from Turkey, and linden blossom from Bulgaria.” The four blends all are based on oolong tea, a variety she chose for its complexity and subtlety. This organic oolong tea is especially rich in GABA, a human enzyme that calms and relaxes.
