By day, Timman is a tattoo artist with a clientele that sounds like the cast of a Hollywood blockbuster: Angelina Jolie, Drew Barrymore and Ben Affleck have all been on the receiving end of his creations. In his spare time, this world-renowned expert in tribal and Japanese tattoos translates his designs onto porcelain for Ink Dish, a tableware manufacturer that’s dedicated to bringing cutting-edge art to mealtimes.

The Irezumi set, which means “tattoo” in Japanese, riffs on your grandmother’s blue-and-white willow ware, but with edgy dragons, waves and cherry blossoms inspired by classic Japanese tattoos. Even the muted cobalt color looks like blue ink on skin.
