An oversized grid of black squares that adds a graphic punch to any room, it comes in one piece and can be stuck to any smooth surface and won’t damage paint (though you have to be pretty decisive about where to put it—once taken off the wall it loses its stickiness).

The five-inch (12.7 cm) squares are numbered one through 31 and can either be written on with chalk or personalized with post-it notes that come with the calendar. Get creative and use them as mini sketchpads. Or be super organized and assign everyone in the family a color. Whatever you decide, at the end of the month, you just wipe everything clean and start again.
