This beechwood and natural horsehair bottle brush is made in Germany by the Redecker family. The long, untreated beechwood handle ends with 100% natural, hand-inserted horsehair bristles that can be maneuvered into bottles, pitchers and more. who have been in the brush business since patriarch Friedrich Redecker, Sr. learned the art of brush-making beginning at age 4 in a school for the blind.
The natural animal bristles can be cleaned in the same way that you would care for your own hair. Wash it with mild shampoo, and rinse out completely under water. Dry at room temperature. Never place near a heater to dry. When completely dried, comb the brush gently to prevent tangles. Condition the wood handle with linseed oil or our Beeswax Wood Care & Finish.
Friedrich Redecker, Sr. began learning the art of brush-making at age 4 in a school for the blind. In 1935 he started selling his handmade wares to neighboring farmers out of the back of his barn in Germany. Today, the man’s grandson continues to run the broom and brush business, which now encompasses two retail stores and an international customer base in Germany, France, Japan, Australia, the U.S. and Canada.
