Founded in 1884, this Swedish lighting company is dedicated to creating lamp fixtures and lighting that are faithful to the designs and manufacturing processes of the 1880s through to the 1930s. Their products are made with original machines from the time period. This wrought iron kerosene lamp was featured in the company’s very first catalogue in 1884. (A ceiling lamp of this same style is also featured prominently in Vincent Van Gogh’s famous painting of 1885, The Potato Eaters.) Ceiling lamps like these were utilized in the home, the workplace and in factories of the late 19th-century. The frame of the lamp is manufactured from durable wrought iron, which has been powder coated to prevent rusting. A glass tube protects the flat cotton wick and flame atop the brass burner.
For best results, pour high-quality kerosene. If pure kerosene is used, there should be little soot and smell. Always keep kerosene in the oil vessel and keep the cloth wick soaked with kerosene at all times, even when not in use. If a moist wick is maintained, your lamp, including its wick, should last a lifetime (the wick doesn’t burn; only the kerosene). It is important to keep the wick just above the edge of the brass burner. If you put the wick too high the flame will reach an undesired height. This will create soot in the glass tube that will burn the wick. The lamp can be cleaned by using a damp cloth. The glass tube can be washed in water and a mild detergent.

Their entire catalogue of products is based on designs from the 1880s to the 1930s, and the products are made with original machinery that has been with the company since its founding.
