why this product

Since its invention in the 1940s by Jack Rohrbach, then vice-president of Shuron Ltd., the browline frame has become a truly iconic piece of eyewear. Widely popularized during the 1950’s and 1960’s, this unique half-frame design has been favored by high profile figures including JFK and Malcolm X. Odds are good that you’re grandpa had a pair, too. One of this company's most enduringly popular versions of the browline, these frames combine a striking silhouette with uncompromising craftsmanship. Made in America since their introduction in 1945, these sunglasses are built to last using only the highest quality parts and materials. The frames are balanced to rest comfortably and snugly on your face, while the arms fit easily on the ear and lightly hug the head. The adjustable silicone nose pads provide security and comfort, while polarized lenses protect your eyes by reducing glare and offering 100% UV protection. In other words, it’s time to grow up and get yourself a real pair of sunglasses. Your grandfather would approve.

use & care

As with any high quality pair of spectacles, these sunglasses should be stored in a protective case when not in use. Should the lenses or frames become smudged or soiled, clean using a microfiber cloth and eyeglass-cleansing solution.

production & design

Since 1865, Shuron has been producing fine quality opticals and sunglasses. In fact, the company name itself originated during the era when pince nez frames were still all the rage, when Shuron's version were marketed with the promise that they would stay "sure on"? your nose. With a special attention to fit and detail, you can rest assured that these sunglasses will live up to the name. All of Shuron's frames remain staunchly American-made, using only highest quality materials, hinges and hardware. These sunglasses are assembled by hand in their factory in Greenville, SC, and are backed by almost 150 years worth of satisfied customers (as well as a one year manufacturing warranty against any defects.)
