The Ellias Trap's namesake is John Ellias, a naturalist and member of the Royal Society of London. Although Dr. Nathaniel Bagshaw Ward is credited with the invention of the modern terrarium, John Ellias discussed the use of terrariums in his book 60 years earlier. Don't fret, he went on to discover the Venus Fly Trap. The Ellias Trap features a pyramid hip roof and repeating geometric triangle pattern.
