Care: Hand wash with lukewarm soapy water, then rinse and air dry by placing the board on its long edge on a dish rack, or pat dry with a towel. Do not wash the board in a dishwasher. If you use the board regularly you may notice that slight surface coarseness occurs. This is natural, and you can easily restore the board to its original appearance by doing the following: Wash and dry the board as described. Once the board is completely dry apply a tablespoon of flaxseed oil on the surfaces and with a fine “wet/dry” #400 grit sand paper lightly rub/buff the board along its length (in the direction of the grain). You will notice that a light creamy slurry is formed. Once the slurry is formed you have sanded enough. After thirty minutes you can wipe it dry with a paper towel. You can choose to let the oil cure for two weeks or you can use it right away. Letting it cure will improve the surface protective qualities of the new oil finish. In case that the board is heavily scratched you should begin its restoration by sanding it dry (without the oil) with a courser #180 or 220 sand paper and only then switch to a #400 wed/dry one + oil.
