This modern, cheery, tulip pattern hand-stamped batik is dyed with all natural plant dyes by craftsmen in Bantul, Indonesia. The pattern is created with a tjap or block dipped in wax and applied to the cotton. The material is then immersed in a dye bath. The wax areas resist the dye, so when the wax is removed by boiling, the pattern remains. Effortless, elegant and ethical, the material is a linen-style loose weave cotton. Plant based dyes are used for the batiks, produced with Textiil's partner in Indonesia, who is also committed to supporting a healthy environment.
Made in Indonesia.
