Meet your new pal, the Japanese macaque. Depicted in this sculpture with a yam, the piece is handmade using a technique called needle felting which involves using a barbed needle to sculpt with wool. The Japanese macaque is monkey native to Japan. They are well known for their extraordinary intelligence. During the winter time, just like Japanese humans, they enjoy long soaks in natural hot springs and have been observed seasoning yams with sea water.
Made to order in the United States. Japanese macaque scultpure. Crafted from wool and steel wire. Please note: because the designer is a farmer and hand-makes every piece himself, delivery times may vary significantly depending on the time of year.
