While there, the Hong Kong-based designer says, she “became mesmerized by the beauty of nature. I really wanted to be able to replicate the beauty of the underwater world and have it with me at all times. A piece of jewelry was the perfect solution.”

Her striking and suprprisingly light rhodium-plated silver Matreck earrings (we’re offering two designs, a dramatic chandelier style and a bean shape with chains) and Elema bracelet also mix in gladiatorial references—“I liked the idea of associating power and beauty and what that represented for the wearer” she says—and nods to the strength and allure of goddesses. What she loves about designing, says Byworth, is that her jewelry helps people express themselves. This is particularly true of her Elema bracelet—its adjustable cord can be knotted around the wrist, the neck, or used to accessorize a boot. “I love designing for girls who balance elegance with self-confidence and beauty,” she says.
