About Modern Archive

Founder and textile designer Cathy Brown was struck with inspiration when, on her first trip to Nepal, she experienced the Tibetan-style process of rug making first hand. Motivated by the contrast between the immaculate rugs and the chaotic streets of Nepal, Cathy knew she wanted to give back to these remarkable people and share their craft with the world. It was then that she decided to use her design skills to create a line of unique, socially responsible rugs. Every rough in her collection is certified with the GoodWeave label, which best assures that no child labor was used to produce them.
