Limited Edition Scent Calendar: Year's Reflection
More than any other sense, scent is linked to memory. If your mother wore Chanel No. 5, then every time you get a whiff of it, you’ll be reminded of her; if your family had happy breakfasts together every weekend, then the aroma of pancakes and maple syrup would always comfort you. Which is why the idea of a calendar that assigns a different smell to each month is so brilliant—it’s the perfect meeting of fragrance, time and memory. This limited edition Scent Calendar from the Parisian perfumer Quintessence was developed in collaboration with style luminaries such as the fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa and celebrity hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai. Along with a wall calendar, the set includes a scented candle for each month that evokes the particular memory associated with it. For example, for July, Alaïa chose a beachy Mediterranean scent that is the essence of summer.
