Whistleblowing for Peace
We see a lot of bold accessories—especially during Fashion Week—but how many happen to be altruistic, too? Falling Whistles are much more than charming pieces of ethically made jewelry—they're also a symbol of protest against warfare in the Congo. Some of the boys not big enough to hold guns there are given whistles and put on the front lines of battle. “Their sole duty is to make enough noise to scare the enemy and then to receive–with their bodies–the first round of bullets,” says founder Sean D. Carasso. Bring attention to children soldiers in the Congo by buying and wearing one of these whistles. They're statement pieces on so many levels.
